Welcome to the Swan Valley Wine Region

The Swan Valley one of Australia’s most historic wine regions – the oldest in Western Australia and second oldest in Australia. For over 185 years the Swan Valley has been the historic heart of wine in Western Australia and is conveniently located just 25 minutes from Perth.

The region is full of vibrant culture, shaped by its unique heritage of early Yugoslav, Croatian, Italian and English migrant families. Its 30+ wineries range from WA’s oldest and largest through to artisan, owner-maker operations. The wine styles are equally diverse, ranging from Sparkling to Fortified wines, Chenin Blancs, Verdelho and Shiraz.

About Swan Valley Wine

"The Swan Valley, on the eastern fringes of Perth’s CBD, is host to some of Western Australia’s oldest vines. Tour the countryside in a reliably warm, dry climate for the state’s oldest winemaking region, which is home to cellar doors, breweries and budding distilleries. With an abundance of vineyard estates, key varietals grown here include shiraz, chardonnay, and cabernet sauvignon, which shows particular intensity and length. Other styles of chenin blanc, verdelho and petit verdot receive equal praise from wine lovers."
